Wella ITVA 2012: Madrid

Last weekend 10 Sassoon models were taken to Madrid for the Wella International Trend Vision Finals 2012, we were part of the new Haute Couture collection for Spring/Summer 2013 'The Sound of Colour' in a section called Decibel (inspiration can be seen below) "a colour trip where 70's glam fuses with punk attitude to create loud tones and brash style". These are some of my images from backstage during the prep days, rehearsals and the show day. I was in a group of 5 wearing white jumpsuits with goggles glued over our eyes, pretty odd!

The show opened with the beautiful tribute to Vidal Sassoon

Below are some of my iPhone images from the weekend, from the stage we performed on, make up practices and rehearsals. My mobile photos can be found on instagram: racheloates

Next stop for me is Abu Dhabi for the Formula One racing and visiting my family then on to Thailand for an actual holiday!

Sassoon at Salon International 2012

This entry is a little preview of my time backstage at Sassoon's shows at Salon International 2012, better late than never! Every year Sassoon use Salon Live to launch their much awaited new collection, so it's always quite an exciting to be a part of it. This year I was modelling in two different presentations, first I was in Sweetness (a part of Hot Rod) then I was in the forth section of the new collection Downtown (with amazing camouflage outfits!). Salon International is always such a fun weekend and a great chance to catch up with other models and stylists.

Everyone's favourite part of the show, the beautiful 5 point cut tribute to the inspirational Vidal Sassoon.

Inter Salon Soiree 2012

The Inter Salon Soiree is a in-house competition that Sassoon hold every year involving all the salons and academies around the world. During the afternoon the technical judging took place while the London salons prepped and rehearsed in their teams for the live presentations that happen during the show.

I loved coming back to photograph this show because I remembered when I started modelling for Sassoon this was one of my first 'big' shows I was in, the nerves! It's also a great show to spot new models and often up and coming stylists. But what I always find really impressive is how diverse and beautiful each presentation is. The rest of my photographs can be seen on Sassoon Academy's Facebook page here: Inter Salon Soiree Backstage

A MASSIVE congratulations to my favourite Sassoon couple, Pink Grubb (left) was awarded Teacher of the Year! And Matt Carroll (right) who was awarded Colourist of the Year! I really recommend a trip to his lovely new salon on the Kings Road.
